Our client a NJ based mid-sized firm is seeking a 2-4 year litigation associate to work in its Ocean Township, New Jersey office. Candidate should expect to perform significant and substantive legal research and writing, communicate with Courts, counsel, and clients, attend Court, take depositions, and generally engage in all aspects of busy commercial litigation practice in state and federal court. Typical matters include: business, contract and real estate disputes; class action prosecution and defense; adversary proceedings in bankruptcy; and complex commercial litigation. Ideal candidates should have graduated in the top 30% of the their law school class. Law review, journal experience, moot court and clerkships are a big plus. All candidates must be admitted to the NJ Bar. NY Bar admission is a big plus.

We are seeking a Registered Patent Attorney - $100K DOE to become a part of our team! You will represent clients in legal proceedings, draw up legal documents and advise clients on legal transactions.

Responsibilities: Our client is a major Bergen County law firm with offices located in Lyndhurst, NJ. They need to hire a Registered Patent Associate with 3-5 years of patent experience. Experience in the tech industry is a big plus but not necessary.

Duties: Will be a member of the legal team and will work closely with other professional staff in the firm to provide legal advice on all aspects of intellectual property, including inventions, patents, copyrights, licensing, IP-related government contract issues, and other business issues integral to the law firm's operations. Reporting to a Deputy General Counsel, duties will include proactively providing legal advice related to invention evaluation, domestic and foreign patent application preparation and prosecution, management of outside counsel, license review, drafting, and negotiation, IP-related government contract review and negotiation, copyright review and transfers, nondisclosure agreement review and negotiation, representing the organization before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and foreign patent offices, interpretation of laws and regulations, problem resolution, representing the organization to outside entities, delivering critical communications and training, and developing policies and procedures.

Requirements: A J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school, admission to practice in one or more jurisdictions and registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. 3-5 years of experience. Must have legal experience preparing and prosecuting domestic and international patent applications, preferably in tech-related and/or computer/software-related arts, and providing patent ability, validity, and infringement assessments, with a law firm, federal agency, or corporation.
